You update a product description, but its translated version falls behind. For stores selling across markets, that small problem quickly becomes a recurring task.

What changes

Shopify’s 9 October 2026 Translate & Adapt update adds Auto-sync for merchants in the countries listed in the announcement, including Italy. Automatic translation expands from two to eight languages, with new and changed content translated weekly. Manually written translations are preserved.

How to enable it

Auto-sync starts switched off. Open the app, select a published language and enable the toggle. Each language can be managed separately. For immediate updates, use Translate now, which also counts towards the eight-language limit.

Our perspective

At Deved, we see an opportunity to reduce multilingual store maintenance. Weekly updates help translations keep pace with the catalogue; for launches or urgent changes, translating immediately and checking the result remains a useful habit.
